Man of Steel

And so I dated a man who was a welder
He, who created a man in his image
And that sculpture taunts me
from the corner of the room
watching y fisgando
We have many things in common
this sculpture and I
We were both formed from the passion
of a welder, the hands of an artist
Both created from scraps
Scraps of cold steel,
and the scraps of a cold heart
Both forged from the fires of a lover
Both taking blows
Blows of a hammer
And a blow to my orgullo
when I was dumped from his palette
and burned by the blue flames
We have many things in common
this sculpture and I
But the only difference is
that I was abandoned
and left to tarnish
I myself am no man of steel,
But if I were,
my tears would surely
cause me
to rust
